My first introduction to the Australian Shepherd was in the later summer of 1996. I tossed over my tongue a new vocabulary: Aussie, Blue Merle, Header, and Little Blue Heeler. I had no idea how passionate my desire to be an owner of one of these agile dogs would become.
Visits to the local library, pet stores, and Internet web sites yielded an avalanche of information which was to consume my every moment in the months to come. I greedily gobbled up every word I could about this breed of dogs called "Aussies".
Alibar Kennels is proud of the accomplishments their dogs have made in the name of this magnificent breed. Allie was the first Australian Shepherd to receive a Championship title in Nova Scotia. She was the first Aussie to place High in Trial in Nova Scotia. Blu, her son, was the first Nova Scotia Breed Champion, the first to receive a Best Puppy in Show, the first to receive Group 1st placements, and the first Maritime Aussie to place in the top 10 Aussies in Canada for 2000. Alibar Kennels is proud to be the first Maritime Aussie kennel active in the Saint John Ambulance Threapy Dog Program, an extremely valuable program within our community.
Alibar Kennels has a commitment to continue to develop the fine qualities of the Austrailian Shepherd and with careful and selective breeding we strive to achieve our goals.
